‘Daybreakers’ is a reminder that not all vampires are goofy — movie review

Who’s in it?: Ethan Hawke (The Explorers, Reality Bites), Willem Dafoe (Shadow of the Vampire, Boondock Saints)

A wise man once said, “The only thing I hate about Santa Clara is all the God damned vampires…”  Well, sir, I loved your movie by the way (that was from The Lost Boys if you didn’t catch it); but I would put it this way, “The only thing I hate about movies these days is all the God damned vampires…”.

‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’ may need multiple viewings to understand — movie review

Who’s in it?: Christopher Plummer (Dreamscape, Dragnet the Movie), Andrew Garfield (the next Spider-Man), Johnny Depp, (Nick of Time, Sweeny Todd) and the late, great Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight, A Knight’s Tale)

Directed by: Terry Gilliam (12 Monkeys, Time Bandits)

‘Up in the Air’ is a wonderful study of character in a world on the go — movie review

Who’s in it?: George Clooney (From Dusk til Dawn, Out of Sight), Vera Farmiga (Departed, Running Scared), Anna Kendrick (Twilight, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World ), Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down, Pineapple Express)

Here’s the lowdown on this one.  Clooney loves to fly.  His job is to fly all over the country and fire people.  I never said this was a happy story.  So dude flies around from city to city and fires people…excuse me, ‘let’s them go’ so that the companies they work for don’t have to.  Corporate downsizing, ain’t it a bitch?  Continue reading ‘Up in the Air’ is a wonderful study of character in a world on the go — movie review
