Charlize Theron thrives as confused and angry woman in ‘Young Adult’ — movie review

What’s the deal with Charlize Theron? Yes, she is gorgeous and yes, she is a great actress. But does she have to play a total bitch in every movie she is in? Granted she seems to have varying levels of bitchy-ness but it might be nice to see her play someone who isn’t using or abusing another character. In “Snow White and the Huntsman”, she plays an evil bitch. In “Prometheus”, she plays a controlling bitch with daddy issues. In last year’s “Young Adult”, she plays a bitch who isn’t happy with her life, so she sets off on a self-destructive path not caring who she hurts along the way. ‘New Year’s Eve’ is bright shining example of everything wrong with romantic comedies — movie review

There is a serious epidemic in the movie universe and that is the absence of quality romantic comedies aimed at women. That’s not to say there aren’t any good movies that are aimed at women but it seems that there are more ridiculously stupid movies aimed at women than there are intelligent ones.

‘The Three Musketeers’ will make you beg for mercy but not in a good way — movie review

Some movies are all style and no substance. Studios think packing a movie full of actors you’ve seen in other (and usually better) movies, dressing them in fantastic looking costumes and throwing in some over the top  action sequences will make an audience forget that the story has been done time and time again. For example, “The Three Musketeers”, released in 2011, has been done dozens of times before this and unfortunately this might be the most boring version of all of them.
