Sam Raimi’s 1981 horror flick, “The Evil Dead”, is a wildly entertaining cult classic that has slowly crept into the mainstream radar. It was only a matter of time before it got the remake treatment. This is both an exciting and scary proposal for fans of the original series, which spawned two sequels. Despite being unable to avoid some stereotypical pit falls of the genre, remake writer and director delivers an “Evil Dead” that is head and shoulders better than any horror movie in recent years.
