‘Man on a Ledge’ is ambitious but predictable thriller — movie review

Sam Worthington has a track record of being in big budget movies that for the most part are all flash and no substance. In his brief career, he has appeared in “Terminator Salvation” and both “Clash of the Titans” and “Wrath of the Titans”. He’s also starred in the #1 box office movie movie of all time, James Cameron’s “Aliens”. The thing about the guy is that while he has always been serviceable in the movies he’s been in, he hasn’t ever made them better, which is what a movie star needs to do. ‘Contraband’ too obvious and cliché to be interesting — movie review

In “Contraband” Mark Wahlberg plays Chris Farraday, a former smuggler who is trying to go straight and live a normal life with his wife and kids. Of course that isn’t easy, especially when his wife has a moron brother who gets into some trouble with some bad dudes. So Marky Mark has to take action, assemble his crew and pull of some jobs, schemes, etc. in order to get his brother in law, himself and his family out of the deep.
