‘X Men Days of Future Past’ nearly fixes a broken universe

Give credit to Bryan Singer. His presence was sorely missed during his absence from the Marvel mutant universe. I think we can all agree that “X3” was a total mess under the direction of Brett Ratner. And Wolverine’s solo films have ranged from sloppy to unnecessary.X-Men-_Days_of_Future_Past_113

“First Class” proved that the X-Men still had something in the tank, and now with Singer back in the director’s chair, he is nearly able to fix all the mistakes that have been made since he left, and put the franchise on the right course for future installments.

Great cast makes ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ a serious Oscar contender — movie review

Love is not perfect. In fact, it’s anything but. It’s amazing what draws two people together. Sometimes it’s the same thing that also drives them over the edge. Yes, there is a fine line between passionate love and complete and total insanity. “Silver Linings Playbook” touches on the state of mental illness and how loves sometimes is the one thing that can drive people apart, make them do wildly insane things and ultimately bring you to where you need to be.

What did I miss? ‘Hunger Games’ intense but misses mark — movie review

I haven’t read the ‘Hunger Games’ series of novels written by Suzanne Collins. Judging from the movie, the director expects you’ve seen it and doesn’t offer much sympathy to those that haven’t. The books are set in the future where an uprising agains the government has caused the Capitol to take drastic measures to maintain control over the people.
