Michelle Williams shines in dull ‘My Week with Marilyn’ — movie review

It’s rare when an actor or an actress disappears into a role so much that you forget who they really are but that is exactly what Michelle Williams is able to do in “My Week with Marilyn”. The two-time Academy Award nominated actress incredibly brings Marilyn Monroe to life so vividly that it’s hard to believe she is the same girl who played the trouble making Jen Lindley on “Dawson’s” Creek years ago. She plays Marilyn with a sadness that will make you feel bad for the pressure put on her by nearly everyone in her life.

Brad Bird delivers a wild ride with ‘Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol’ — movie review

Tom Cruise is one of the most polarizing actors in Hollywood today. Love him or hate him, you have to respect the man because he throws himself into every movie he does 100%. The 2011 release of “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” is no different as Cruise does his own stunts once again, including one of the best stunts in recent history. The good thing though is because Cruise cares so much, you can see the attention to detail put in to continue to make this one of the best ongoing action franchises in recent history.

Charlize Theron thrives as confused and angry woman in ‘Young Adult’ — movie review

What’s the deal with Charlize Theron? Yes, she is gorgeous and yes, she is a great actress. But does she have to play a total bitch in every movie she is in? Granted she seems to have varying levels of bitchy-ness but it might be nice to see her play someone who isn’t using or abusing another character. In “Snow White and the Huntsman”, she plays an evil bitch. In “Prometheus”, she plays a controlling bitch with daddy issues. In last year’s “Young Adult”, she plays a bitch who isn’t happy with her life, so she sets off on a self-destructive path not caring who she hurts along the way.
