Die hard Trek fans may not agree but ‘Star Trek into Darkness’ is an awesome sequel

KhanI’m not going to lie. I’m not a “Star Trek” loyalist. Loved the show when I was little, but I’ve always sided on the “Star Wars” side of that debate. So I went into “Star Trek into Darkness” having loved J.J. Abrams first adventure mostly because it was a departure from the yawn inducing movies that were the previous films. I’m happy to say that I loved this movie — for the most part. Sure, there are some dull moments and some that don’t quite work dramatically, but it is a hell of a sequel.

Yes, Benedict Cumberbatch is awesome as….well, you’ll have to see the movie to find out who he plays.

Is J.J. Abrams the right choice to take over the ‘Star Wars’ reigns?

jjabramsSWThe simple answer to this is yes — J.J. Abrams is absolutely the man for this job. The real question might be, “Is it possible for ANYONE to make the ‘Star Wars’ movie fans demand?”. George Lucas tried and failed to recapture the magic he created back in 1977, 1980 and 1983 with “A New Hope”, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”. Brad Bird delivers a wild ride with ‘Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol’ — movie review

Tom Cruise is one of the most polarizing actors in Hollywood today. Love him or hate him, you have to respect the man because he throws himself into every movie he does 100%. The 2011 release of “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” is no different as Cruise does his own stunts once again, including one of the best stunts in recent history. The good thing though is because Cruise cares so much, you can see the attention to detail put in to continue to make this one of the best ongoing action franchises in recent history.
